LeapFrog LeapReader - Reading and writing system for kids

LeapFrog's LeapReader Reading and Writing System provides learning development and endless hours of interactive fun for children.

LeapFrog LeapReader Learn to Read Megapack

As a long-time lover of LeapFrog products, our family was excited to have the chance to review the LeapReader! Possible Cons: - I haven't been able to test this out for myself but I've heard that files for the newer books are larger than the old Tag books, which cuts down on the implied benefit of more space on the LeapReader. In fact, my husband had been working with our 3 yr old to learn his letters but he only knew a few of them. After a couple of days just playing with the LeapReader and the alphabet book that comes with the system, we discovered that our son had learned almost all of the other letters by himself! My daughter loves playing with this, there's so many options and things to do. There's the options to read word by word, read by page, and even read the entire story. Also there's games to play, and it has definitely encouraged her love of reading.

With the LeapStart system, every page talks, sings and jokes with exciting audio interactions that bring learning to life. Explore the wacky world of Doodleburg and meet friends who help teach the fundamentals of early reading and writing along with communication skills. Jump on the Doodle Express and "ride" around town in search of letters and words. Help a detective find out who stole a missing cat by reading clues and eliminating suspects. Plus, trace letters along the way to unlock surprise mini-ctivities. With this LeapStart book, kids explore 11 key reading and writing skills, including identifying rhyming words, understanding how words are formed, forming uppercase and lowercase letters and more. Activities are designed around familiar themes like music, fishing and hopscotch to get kids excited about reading, writing and communication skills.

She has always loved books and stories. When she was tiny she used to read stories to her dolls and teddies in her made up toddler language. Frog has taken to reading with ease. I was interested, then, to see if the LeapReader would suit her, or if it might be just another educational toy gimmick for gullible parents. A talking, counting pen that plays music and can read the book in front of you. The LeapReader works alongside a whole library of completely interactive books. It means that when your child is tracing a letter or number, the pen can correct them as they go.

Animations triggered by LeapStart® books are compatible with any LeapStart® system with a screen.
