Dear Bob and Sue: Season 2
Dear Bob and Sue is definitely one of my favorite books this year! They found that the easiest way to chronicle their travels was to write emails to their friends Bob and Sue about their adventures, which are published in this book. Not only is this book highly entertaining, but it is also informative. Early on in the book Karen describes the excitement she feels every time they pass a brown sign on the highway — the point of interest signs — and I can totally relate to that because I get excited seeing those too. I laughed out loud multiple times while listening to this book I downloaded the Audiobook version to listen to on my various road trips in April and May I highly highly recommend reading or listening to this book.

More than a laugh out loud travel memoir, Dear Bob and Sue: Season 2 will bring to life the joy of discovery, the pure satisfaction of accomplishment, and the humor that comes with experiencing new places and activities. Season 2 is the follow-up to Dear Bob and Sue, a charming and sometimes irreverent chronicle of a middle-aged couple as they visit each of the country's fifty-nine national parks, testing their mettle and stretching their endurance. In their second book of the series, follow Matt and Karen as they work their way around the western United States discovering some of our most beautiful public lands, hidden gems, and revisiting a few of their favorite national parks. This book is not a hiker's guide, though you will feel as if you are right there with them on some of the most amazing trails the country has to offer. Through a series of emails written to their friends, Bob and Sue, the couple brings the reader along on their adventures, sharing their experiences as they hike the lesser known parks and national monuments.
They write about their impressions of each park, letting their personalities come through. They only seemed to write about what they learned when they were at a park. Still a fun read. This is a funny book, no doubt about it. Matt and Karen, the authors, quit their jobs for a year when they or at least, when he were fifty.
This book is in keeping with my theme of books about the National Parks. Matt and Karen quit their jobs and took a year off to visit all 58 now 59 National Parks. First of all, a disclaimer. But Matt and Karen Smith felt like they had to set some limits on their adventure. They talk about the parks they visited in the order they visited them.
