Shadows of Self and the Mistborn Mega-Series

Oct 15, Blog. As I was developing the Cosmere, I knew I wanted a few threads to span the entire mega-sequence, which was going to cover thousands of years. One of these is the Stormlight Archive , where we have the Heralds who span ages, and which I eventually decided to break into two distinct arcs. Other series touch on the idea of long-standing characters. Dragonsteel, for example, will be kind of a bookend series. With Mistborn, I wanted to do something different.

[Spoilers] Thoughts On Current Wax & Wayne Mistborn Books

Mistborn: The Wax and Wayne Series: (Alloy of Law, Shadows of Self, The Bands of Mourning)

Mistborn is a series of epic fantasy novels written by American author Brandon Sanderson and published by Tor Books. To prepare readers for the second series, Sanderson wrote a transitional sequel, The Alloy of Law , which then turned into the first installment in the Wax and Wayne tetralogy, set years later. Sanderson also published a companion story to the original trilogy, titled Mistborn: Secret History , on January 26, There are two other planned trilogies, but they have no projected completion dates. The series primarily takes place in a region called the Final Empire on a world called Scadrial, where the sun and sky are red, vegetation is brown, and the ground is constantly being covered under black volcanic ashfalls. Every night the land becomes covered in an unnatural mist or fog.

Really excited for Wax and Wayne 4, I just recieved the other three Wax and Wayne books in hardcover yesterday i'd already read them, but it was like three years ago. I was hoping for something sixth of the dusk related for the secret project even though he said he wasn't going to do any more sixth of the dusk. Posted February 22, Makes me sad that it isnt The Aztlanian. I was really hoping it was.

It was published on November 8, by Tor Books and is the first book in the Wax and Wayne series and fourth in the Mistborn series.

Mistborn is a fantasy series by Brandon Sanderson. It is a major part of the cosmere sequence and is set mostly on the Shardworld Scadrial. Brandon originally planned a "trilogy of trilogies" but this has been expanded into a number of series over various eras in the history of Scadrial. The first Mistborn trilogy chronicles the efforts of a secret group of Allomancers who attempt to overthrow a dystopian empire and establish themselves in a world covered by ash. Set about years after Era 1, the Wax and Wayne series is about the exploits of Waxillium Ladrian , a "wild-west Deputy" forced to move into the big city, and starts investigating kidnappings and robberies. The Alloy of Law was initially conceived as one of several short stories Brandon wanted to set between the first and second main trilogies that eventually grew into a full novel, and then a series.
